Just a quick post to highlight the latest issue of the Association for Learning Technology Journal (ALT-J), which is a special issue entitled ‘Learning and Teaching in Immersive Virtual Worlds’. This issue contains a number of papers on different aspects of game-based and virtual environments, and Maggi-Savin Baden’s article on shifting perceptions of learning in virtual worlds provides a good literature review (and it’s free to download).
