Basically an ARG combines a story with a series of puzzles that need collaborative input to be solved. They generally make use of a whole range of web content as well as moving into the real world. This <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/entertainment\/music\/magazine\/16-01\/ff_args\" target=\"_blank\">article<\/a> in Wired magazine gives a really good overview of what ARGs are all about and for more detail, this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.igda.org\/arg\/resources\/IGDA-AlternateRealityGames-Whitepaper-2006.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">white paper<\/a> is excellent.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most famous commercial ARGs is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.perplexcity.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">perplexcity<\/a>, now sadly on hold.
